Family Updates

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL FAMILIES

WELCOME BACK, CHESAPEAKE PUBLIC SCHOOLS!

Dear Families,

Welcome to another fantastic school year! I hope your summer was full of fun, relaxation, and maybe a few adventures that left you with some great memories. One of our great memories from this summer included inviting back actor, comedian, and Indian River High School graduate, Jay Pharaoh! He joined us and thanked his former teachers and administrators for the incredible impact they made on his life.

We know that our teachers, coaches, administrators, bus drivers, and every member of our district is excited to make this kind of impact on the lives of each of the more than 40,000 students we serve.

For our students, this year is a time to explore new subjects, develop new skills, and build new relationships. For us, it’s all about creating a positive, supportive environment where they can learn, explore, and have fun!

As with every new school year, there will be obstacles along the way, but from every challenge we learn how to adapt and grow. Remember, every day is a new beginning. Let’s continue to work together to empower one another on our path to a successful and fulfilling school year.

Let’s make it a great year!

Sincerely,
Dr. Jared A. Cotton
Superintendent
