Mark your calendars for the district-wide Teacher of the Year ceremony on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Indian River High School. 2025-2026 Academic Calendar

The 2025-2026 Academic Calendar was approved by the School Board on Monday, October 21, 2024. The Board approved the Post-Labor Day Lengthened Calendar (Option A2) for the 2025-2026 school year. The survey results and approved calendar are available on our website. 

SNAP: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

We are excited to announce that the Virginia Department of Social Services in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education has initiated the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in Schools (SNAP) outreach to students in Chesapeake. SNAP provides nutrition benefits to supplement the food budget of families so they can purchase healthy food options to enjoy at home. Impact Aid

Our Impact Aid Survey began Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The Impact Aid Program provides funding directly to school divisions to compensate for lost real estate revenues due to an increased amount of federal property in their districts. Impact aid funds support all of our students and programs across the district. If you haven't already, please sign and return your completed cards as soon as possible. Our website has printable versions of the card if yours was lost and resources to assist in Spanish.

This is a perfect opportunity to connect with colleges and universities from all over the United States!
