Principal’s Message

With Spring Break just around the corner, I want to encourage everyone to unplug truly. Our students have been working hard, navigating everything from culminating assessments and athletic competitions to theater rehearsals and college applications.

While it’s tempting to use the break to "get ahead," research consistently shows that a genuine mental reset is the most effective way to prevent burnout. Whether you are traveling or enjoying a quiet "staycation," I hope you find time to rest, reconnect with family, and step away from the screens.  We look forward to seeing our students after the break and are ready to finish strong.

Take care,

Mrs. Naomi Dunbar

Student ID badge program

Student ID Badge Program

As a reminder, it is a requirement for all Chesapeake Public School students to wear their ID badges on a lanyard around their neck at all times.  Not only are the badges required for use on buses, breakfast/lunches, and media center check out items, they are for the safety of all personnel in the building by easily identifying who is authorized to be on the property and who is not.  The following consequences have been set for students who do not have their lanyards on and visible:

1st Offence - Warning, reminder to student.

3rd Offence - Phone call to parent, new ID required ($5 fee).

4th Offence - 1st block ISS.

6th Offence and greater - One full day of ISS plus school level contract.

cell phone policy

Cell Phone & Personal Communication Devices

As a reminder, during the school day, all personal communications devices (PCD) are expected to be turned off and put away. This means that these devices should not be kept on the person or in the clothing of students during the school day. This expectation applies to all areas of our school buildings including cafeterias for the entire school day.

This policy has been in effect since the 2023-2024 school year.
