The River Report

Indian River Middle

February 2026

Principal's Message

We have officially completed the second marking period and are halfway through our school year. Report Cards will be available in ParentVUE next week. We encourage families to take time to review your child's academic progress, celebrate successes, and discuss areas where additional growth may be needed. If you have questions or would like to schedule a meeting with your child's team, please do not hesitate to reach out. Maintaining a strong partnership between school and home is essential as we work together to ensure every student is successful.

To support student learning, we offer several academic support opportunities including after school tutoring, study hall and SOL Power sessions. These program are designed to help students stay on track with coursework while also preparing them for upcoming SOL assessments. We strongly encourage students to take advantage of these opportunities when additional support is needed. More information can be found below and on our website. You can also reach out to your child's teacher for information.

Our Winter Growth Assessments will take place on Tuesday, February 10th. Please be sure your student comes to school with a fully charged Chromebook.  Spring Pictures will take place on Friday, February 20th. Spring Sport tryouts begin February 25th, 2026

We are excited about upcoming opportunities for our school community to connect and celebrate our students. Please join us for Family Fun Night on February 12th at 6:00 pm. This event is a greater way to spend time together and see what your child is learning in his/her classes. The PTSA has partnered with our SCA to showcase our students amazing talent in our Braves Got Talent Show on February 19th at 6:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased from the PTSA.

Our students have shown great progress, and we are excited to see them continue setting goals and pushing themselves to succeed. We look forward to supporting them as they finish the year strong!

Go Braves,

Mrs. Stanley
