A Message from Your RBW Administrators |
Rena B. Wright Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! 🐯 We are excited to welcome our students and families back to Rena B. Wright Primary School and look forward to a wonderful year together. As Mrs. Foard begins her first year as principal and Mrs. Szymborski begins her second year serving the RBW community, we are excited to work together to support our students, staff, and families.
Family partnership plays an important role in student success. We encourage you to stay connected, communicate with your child’s teacher, participate in school events, and remain actively involved in your child’s education.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. We look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and great memories. Together, let’s make 2026-2027 an amazing year because at RBW, we are Wright Where We Belong! 🐯 Warmly, Mrs. Pamela Foard, Principal Mrs. Kelly Szymborski, Assistant Principal |

| Please make sure your child brings their student ID badge to school every day. Students use their badges when riding the school bus, purchasing meals in the cafeteria, and checking out books from the library.
Helpful Tip: Build a routine! Encourage your child to place their ID badge in their backpack as soon as they get home so it is ready to go for the next school day. Thank you for helping our Tigers come prepared each day! 🐯 |

Understanding Your Child’s Reading Needs |
|
|
| This fall, our students will participate in VALLSS testing during the following windows: Grades 1–3: September 21–October 12
Kindergarten: October 19–November 9 Pre-K: October 19–November 6 VALLSS is a reading assessment that helps teachers understand each student’s current literacy skills. Think of it as a starting point that shows us what your child already knows and where additional support may be needed.
Teachers use the results to plan instruction, provide targeted interventions for students who need extra support, and offer enrichment opportunities for students who are ready for more. Our goal is to meet every student where they are and help them grow! 📚🐯 |

Are You an Attendance HERO?
|
|
|
| (HERE. EVERYDAY. READY. ON-TIME) |
Regular attendance is an important part of your child’s success! We need our RBW Tigers at school every day and on time, ready to learn. Our school day begins promptly at 7:35 a.m. During the first week of school, we will provide families with grace as everyone adjusts to new morning routines, and tardies will not be recorded. Beginning Monday, September 14, students arriving after 7:35 a.m. will be marked tardy. Thank you for partnering with us to establish strong attendance habits from the very beginning. Every day and every minute of learning matters! 🐯 |

|
| 🐯 Positive Behavior Starts with All of Us! |
At Rena B. Wright, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for every student. Teachers will teach, model, and reinforce behavior expectations throughout the school year. We ask families to partner with us by reviewing the importance of following directions, being kind, respecting others, and making safe choices. Behavioral concerns will be addressed according to our school and district discipline procedures. If concerns arise, we encourage open communication between families and teachers. Together, we can help our Tigers make positive choices and have a successful school year! 🐯💙💛 |

We Want YOU to Volunteer! 🐯 |
|
|
| We are excited to welcome parent and family volunteers to RBW this school year! There will be many opportunities to support our classrooms, school events, and other activities throughout the year.
Be on the lookout for a volunteer interest survey coming soon, where you can share how you would like to get involved. We look forward to partnering with you and having you as an active part of our RBW community! 💙💛 |

Temporary Arrival & Dismissal Traffic Pattern for Parent Pick-Up |
Due to ongoing construction near RBW, we will begin the school year with a temporary parent drop-off and pick-up traffic pattern. Families are highly encouraged to use school bus transportation whenever possible to help reduce traffic congestion. If you plan to drive your child, please allow extra time, remain patient, and follow the directions of RBW staff. Traffic may be temporarily stopped to allow buses and staff vehicles to safely enter or exit.
Morning drop-off closes promptly at 7:30 a.m., so please plan to arrive early. Temporary Traffic Route: Enter from Park Avenue → turn left into the faculty parking lot → continue to the playground → follow the road behind the baseball field/playground → make a U-turn → enter the parent line and stay in the lane closest to the school.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our Tigers, families, and staff safe! 🐯💙💛 We will notify families when construction is complete and normal traffic procedures resume. |

We encourage all of our families to join the Rena B. Wright PTA! Your membership helps support student activities, family events, school programs, and special opportunities for our Tigers. Joining the PTA is also a great way to stay connected, have a voice, and partner with our school to make RBW an even better place for our children. PTA dues this year are $8.00 and are payable via the Givebacks platform utilizing this link. Thank you in advance for your support!
